R8 — the matching engine

Pair. Don't rank.

Most systems rank: best first, list downward. R8 pairs: the best possible pairs, where both sides' preferences count.

The problem

The popularity trap

Ranking looks fair but creates congestion: the most popular options get all the attention, the rest get none — and the list never considers what the other side wants. The result is queues, noise, and pairs that never should have been proposed.

The science

Stable pairs

The problem is solved at its core. Stable matching — the theory behind, among other things, how doctors are matched to hospitals in the US — was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2012. The principle: a pair is stable when neither party would rather have someone else who also wants them. R8 is built on that principle.

The engine

What R8 adds

R8 applies stable matching to real businesses: richer signatures of both sides, mutual preferences instead of score lists, and an action layer that takes the match all the way to a decision. The what and the why we're happy to share — the how is our business.

The rules

Eight principles

The same rules in every industry.

01

Mutual interest

Both sides must want it.

02

No better option

The best mutual pair wins.

03

One at a time

Quality over quantity.

04

Fair access

Everyone gets a chance — not just the popular.

05

Act or move on

A proposal has a deadline.

06

Outcome-focused

Results that happen, not clicks.

07

Respect the journey

Step by step, in the right order.

08

Human judgment

AI proposes, the human decides.

The signature

Eight traits

The same eight dimensions, different language — pick an industry and watch the signature change shape.

Non-negotiables

What can't be compromised on

Direction

Where life is heading — and with whom

Context

Where in life you are

Character

Who you are as a person

Priorities

What weighs heaviest over time

Everyday life

What the days actually look like

Draw

Chemistry

What doesn't show on paper

The breadth

One engine, many businesses

Person ↔ personCandidate ↔ roleBuyer ↔ sellerPart ↔ vehicleRecord ↔ recordSample ↔ reference

TR8S is pronounced "traits" — eight traits, eight principles. R8 is the engine. Read it as "rate" or "right" — it does both.
